First Assistant Engineer Gary McGrath climbs the "A-frame" that is used for putting Alvin in the water and taking it out. He was performing some routine maintenance, despite the fact that weather conditions weren't routine. Keeping equipment running smoothly is necessary no matter what the weather.

This urchin came up from the last Alvin dive attached to a coral. While it's a common sea urchin, the fact that it belongs to the community living on the New England Seamounts helps us form a more complete picture of that area.
