These students don’t look very busy while they are on watch in the Control Van! It takes about two hours, and lots of skill and patience, to turn the ship around while towing a piece of equipment on a 3500 meter-long fiber optic cable. Once back on course, these watch standers will again be busy making observations and keeping track that the data are being recorded correctly.
